meet the team

Jeremy Gitomer, MD

Dr. Gitomer has been practicing adult and pediatric nephrology since 2002 in Anchorage. He enjoys all aspects of nephrology including acute renal failure, end stage renal disease, hypertension and kidney stones. He is currently board certified in adult nephrology and pediatric nephrology.

Chadwick Barnes, MD

Dr. Barnes completed his medical and specialty training at The Ohio State University. He moved to Alaska in 2011 and is enjoying all that Alaska has to offer. His medical interests include hypertension, dialysis, and chronic kidney disease. He also has training in interventional nephrology. He is currently board certified in nephrology and internal medicine.

Mahmud Khan, MD

Dr. Khan joined the practice in June 2014. He is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology. He speaks several languages including English, Urdu, Punjabi, and Siraiki. His residency was at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center with a fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia. He has worked as a nephrologist and internist at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center in Lahore Pakistan. Most recently, he was the medical director of the Acute Kidney Unit and Director of the Nephrology Program at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, New York. He has also been a clinical instructor at State University of New York at Syracuse and at Binghamton.

Regina Dahl, ANP

Regina Dahl has been practicing nephrology with Dr. Gitomer for 10 years. She is an expert in ESRD (Dialysis) management and cares for many of the dialysis patients in the practice. She is an expert in exercise and nutrition.

Rachael Carlson, ANP, CNN-NP

Rachael Carlson is a board certified nurse practitioner who has been practicing at KHC for over three years. She has nursing degrees from Florida State University and the University of Alaska Anchorage. She recently completed all the requirements for certification as a Certified Nephrology Nurse Practitioner. She enjoys all aspects of treating patients with kidney disease. Her areas of expertise are chronic kidney disease, dialysis, and health promotion. Rachael is also active in the Alaska Nurse Practitioner Association. She is the immediate past-president for 2014-2015.

Christine Potter-Kramer, ANP

Christine Potter has been caring for Alaskans for almost 15 years working with the cardiovascular surgeons in town. She joined KHC in 2010 and has been managing patients in the clinic and at St. Elias Specialty Hospital. Her areas of expertise are cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, and hypertension.

Sarah Bilak-Larson, ANP

Sarah Bilak-Larson just joined KHC in 2014. She has two degrees from University of Alaska Anchorage. She has extensive experience as a registered nurse prior to getting her nurse practitioner degree and has gained experience managing kidney patients in several different settings in the past two years. She enjoys all aspects of nephrology.
